Miami might be known around the world for its clubs and restaurants but it is increasingly making its mark as a destination that is known for offering a wide array of activities for tourists and celebrities who are interested in the arts and in enjoying cultural activities. The epicenter of Miami’s growing arts scene is an area that is known as the Miami Design District.True to its name the Miami Design District is home to a large number of art galleries and other attractions that will appeal to visitors and locals alike who have a strong appreciation for visual art.

The Miami Design District is a hotbed of creativity and luxury experiences but it was not always like this. The area was once abandoned and had fallen into disrepair until real estate developer Craig Robins stepped in and decided that the area had a lot potential. Craig Robins is the chief executive officer and president of a real estate company that is known as Dacra. Through Dacra he instituted an extensive real estate development initiative that helped to transform the Miami Design District from an overlooked part of Miami into a must-see destination for any travelers that make their way to Miami. Today the Miami Design District has over 70 art galleries and often plays host for events that are connected to the annual global art fair that takes place in Miami that is known as Art Basel.

Craig Robins also helped to transform the Miami Design District into a major shopping destination. The neighborhood has dozens of luxury retailers that have drawn many celebrities who come to the area to experience its vibrant arts scene and to take advantage of the shopping opportunities. HGTV Star David Bromstad has made his way to the Miami Design District to serve as the Grand Marshal of the AIDS Walk while actress Kate Hudson, who starred in the acclaimed film Almost Famous, has been seen in the area on her way to an event at Chrome Hearts. Model Elle Macpherson has also been spotted in the area while attending an event that took place during Art Basel while Miranda Kerr came to the district to attend an event held by the fashion brand Louis Vuitton.
