blog founder Dave Delcambre has an interdisciplinary background in the art, design, and curatorial fields. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture, a BFA in painting from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon and studied in the graduate program at Bard College’s Center for Curatorial Studies. He works as a freelance art critic for the Independent Weekly in Durham, NC in addition to coordinating occasional public art projects in the Triangle as director of the organization Projects for the Public Realm. Xandra Eden is currently the Curator of Exhibitions at UNC-Greensboro’s Weatherspoon Art Museum and was previously an assistant curator at the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto. She has published numerous reviews and essays in addition to exhibition catalogues. Xandra holds a Masters of Arts degree from Bard College’s Center for Curatorial Studies and a BFA in Studio Art from SUNY at Purchase.
Ursula Gullow is an artist and writer in Asheville, NC who has exhibited her work in over 30 exhibitions at galleries all across the US. She holds a BA degree from SUNY at New Paltz and and AA from Seattle Community College in graphic design and illustration. She is also a 2009 Recipient of the Regional Artist Project Grant awarded by the Asheville Area Arts Council and The North Carolina Arts Council.
Steven Matijcio is Curator of Contemporary Art at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) in Winston Salem, NC. Previously he held positions at the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, and the Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art in Winnipeg. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and hold a Masters of Arts degree from Bard College’s Center for Curatorial Studies. He has written for the journals Canadian Art, Border Crossings, Locus Suspectus, and Canadian Architect and worked as editor/curator for the recent publication Scratching the Surface: The Post-Prairie Landscape.
Park McArthur was born in North Carolina and received a BA in studio art and Chinese from Davidson College and an MFA in sculpture from the University of Miami. She currently lives in New York and is a participant in the Whitney Independent Study Program.
Teka Selman is a writer and independent curator based in Durham, North Carolina and is Assistant Director of the MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts program at Duke University. She was previously Partner at Branch Gallery, an art space that received national attention for its focus on the work of emerging artists. Prior to relocating to the Southeast, she was Director at Sikkema Jenkins & Co. Gallery in New York. She also held positions at Gagosian Gallery in London and New York and was manager of Major Gifts at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. Selman holds an MA degree in Art History and Visual Culture from Goldsmith’s, University of London and a BA in Art History and Anthropology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is a 2010 Fellow of the London-based International Curators Forum.
Jeff York is Public Arts Administrator for the Town of Chapel Hill, NC where he oversees the percent for public art program in addition to community arts, and both temporary and annual outdoor sculpture exhibitions . While with the NC Arts Council, he oversaw the state’s 80-piece sculpture collection and assisted communities across the state with public art and design planning services. He has also served as advisor to the Charlotte area’s Art-in-Transit program and the City of Raleigh’s Arts Commission. Jeff also has over 18 years prior experience in the art museum field as educator, curator and director.
